The solar post cap light provides an ambient, non-task-oriented light.

Where can I purchase replacement LED light bulbs?

What kind of replacement batteries should I buy for the solar post cap light?
If the rechargeable batteries provided will no longer recharge, they can be replaced with any AA rechargeable batteries. The life depends on the quality of the batteries purchased.

How long will the rechargeable batteries provided with the solar post cap last?
The rechargeable batteries are NiCad batteries and they are rated for approximately 1000 cycles, or roughly 3 years.

Can I use regular, non-rechargeable batteries in the solar post cap light?
No, the solar post cap light is designed to be used with rechargeable batteries. If regular batteries are used in the sun, they will destroy the solar collector.

These LED's are of the highest quality and latest technology available today. With a normal usage of 6-8 hours per day, the LED bulbs should last an average of 10 years.

What is the run time on the solar light?
Run time is base on the season, and location. Northern climates will have a run time during the summer of 8-12 hours, and 2-6 hours during the winter months. Southern climates will have a run time during the summer of of 8-12 hours, and 6-8 hours during the winter months. The amount of sunlight is a direct correlation to run time - cloudy days will effect run time.

My solar light will not light up.
The most common issue is the battery. It takes up to 3 weeks for a new solar unit to cycle to full capacity. Winter months will effect this cycle time as well, if installed during the winter season. To test a solar unit, remove the NiCad batteries and install AA alkaline batteries. Cover the entire solar collector to test the unit. If the unit lights up, replace the NiCad batteries. Caution: alkaline batteries should only be used for testing and should be removed immediately after testing the unit. Do not leave alkaline batteries in the unit.
